  Este trabajo estudia la política norteafricana durante los últimos años del reinado de los Reyes Católicos, la crisis dinástica y el corto reinado de Felipe el Hermoso. Un período confuso y turbulento en el que la monarquía his-pánica se planteó intervenir en los sultanatos de Túnez y Tremecén para asegurar el litoral magrebí y el espacio marítimo del reino de Nápoles recién incorporado. Con documentación de archivos españoles y europeos, se comprueba cómo la bas-culación entre las dos zonas de expansión dependió de los intereses castellano-ara-goneses y de las vicisitudes sucesorias en una línea de acción que maduró durante la regencia de Fernando el Católico.

  This paper studies policies on North Africa in the last years of the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, the dynastic crisis and the short reign of Phi-lip I of Castile. This was a confusing and turbulent period in which the Hispanic monarchy planned to intervene in the Tunisian sultanate and the sultanate of Tlem-cen to secure the Maghrebian coast and the maritime space of the newly incorpora-ted kingdom of Naples. With documentation from Spanish and European archives, it is possible to see how the shifting of weight between the two potential areas of expansion depended on Castilian-Aragonese interests and the vicissitudes of suc-cession in a line of action that matured during the reign of Ferdinand II of Aragon.
