Resumen de Francisco Bilbao Barquín (1823-1865): promotor de una cultura constitucional democrática e igualitaria

La investigación aporta al conocimiento del pensamiento del chileno americanista Francisco Bilbao Barquín (1823-1865), en particular a la caracterización de su ideario constitucional que tiene escaso desarrollo. Procuramos salvar este vacío analizando las ideas del autor en relación con el ideario de los grupos políticos chilenos pelucón y pipiolo, concluyendo que se trata de una concepción con identidad propia que recibe influencia europea, particularmente francesa y polaca. Bilbao elaboró una propuesta abiertamente opuesta a la Constitución chilena de 1833. Sostendremos que promovió un constitucionalismo democrático e igualitario que difundió en la sociedad chilena, peruana y argentina.

This research contributes to the knowledge about the thought of the Chilean Americanist Francisco Bilbao Barquín (1823-1865). Specifically, it contributes to the characterization of his constitutional ideology, a matter that has not yet developed. There was an attempt of bridging this gap by analyzing the author’s ideas regarding the ideology of the Chilean political ‘pelucón` and ‘pipiolo` groups. The research concluded that Bilbao's ideology showed a particular identity that received European, mainly French and Polish, influence. Bilbao elaborated a proposal in open opposition to the Constitution of 1833 since he promoted democratic and egalitarian constitutionalism, spreading his thought in Chilean, Peruvian and Argentine society.
