Resumen de Ciencia y Dialéctica en el Tratado del Alma de Aristóteles

En este artículo se pretende mostrar cómo el procedimiento seguido por Aristóteles en uno de sus tratados científicos -el del alma- constituye una clara demostración del papel primordial e imprescindible desempeñado por la dialéctica en al investigación científica. La idea es mostrar, a partir del estudio y el contraste entre el procedimiento científico y el procedimiento dialéctico en el Tratado del alma, que la dialéctica en Aristóteles cumple un papel propositivo que va más allá del puramente negativo o refutativo al que tradicionalmente se la asocia. Para ello, el artículo se concentrará básicamente en la definición y descripción de la dialéctica dada en Tópicos (I y VIII); propiamente en Acerca del Alma(DA) y en los trabajos de Ch. Witt y T. Irwin al respecto.

This article aims to show how the procedure followed by Aristotle in one of its scientific treatises – Aristotle’s On the Soul– is a clear demonstration of the primary and indispensable role of dialectics in scientific investigation. The idea is to show, from the study and the contrast between the scientific and the dialectical procedure in De Anima, that the dialectics in Aristotle plays an affirmative role that goes beyond the purely negative one (that traditionally associates with it). For this, the work will focus primarily on the definition and description of the dialectics given in Topics (I and VIII); properly in De Anima(DA) and in Witt’s and Irwin’s works in the matter.
