Afganistán, emisión informativa a "negro"

    La precipitada salida, aunque prevista, de las tropas internacionales de Afganistán ha puesto fin a veinte años democracia en el país y a la guerra más larga librada por Estados Unidos. También a una herramienta básica para la democratización de un Estado, la existencia de medios de comunicación libres, independientes y plurales. El retorno de los talibanes al poder, al que tantos titulares y tiempo han dedicado los medios occidentales como «noticia del verano», quedará, como los avances conseguidos estos años en derechos, educación o sanidad, entre otros, olvidado por el paso del tiempo y nuevos titulares. La labor, presencia, libertad y voz de los medios afganos, al igual que los turbantes que lucen la mayoría de los talibanes, tenderá a irse a «negro» por su ausencia y por el discurso, único y sin réplica ni debate, de los totalitaristas teocráticos que rigen el destino de este nuevo califato.

    The hasty but planned withdrawal of international troops from Afghanistan has put an end to 20 years of democracy in the country and to the longest war waged by the United States. It has also put an end to a basic tool for the democratisation of a state, the existence of free, independent and pluralistic media. The return of the Taliban to power, to which the Western media have devoted so many headlines and so much time as ‘summer news’, will, like the progress made in recent years in rights, education and health, among others, be forgotten with the passage of time and new headlines. The work, presence, freedom and voice of the Afghan media, like the turbans worn by the majority of the Taliban, will tend to go ‘black’ due to their absence and the single discourse, without reply or debate, of the theocratic totalitarians who rule the destiny of this new caliphate.
