En este artículo estudiamos la convivencia entre el castellano y el catalán en los textos privados del siglo XVII. Veremos, a través del caso concreto del Dietari de Jaume Ramon Vila, cómo se incorporan fuentes escritas en diferentes idiomas dentro de un mismo diario y cómo los autores hacen servir el mecanismo de la traducción para combinar sus experiencias personales con otro tipo de narraciones, como por ejemplo las noticias o relaciones impresas.

This article studies the coexistence between the Spanish and the Catalan inside private texts in the seventeenth century. We will see, through the specific case of Dietari by Jaume Ramon Vila, how sources written in different languages are incorporated into a single diary and how the authors make use of the mechanism of translation to combine their personal experiences with other types of narratives, such as, for example news or printed relationships.
