Resumen de Escritura, legitimidad y memoria: lemas y divisas de Alfonso V el Magnánimo (1416-1458)

  Alfonso V el Magnánimo, Rey de Aragón (1416-1458), debido a su vinculación al trono napolitano y a su papel en la política europea del Quattrocento, construyó un discurso de su imagen con el que representarse tanto ante sus contemporáneos como ante la posteridad. La finalidad del mismo: demostrar su legitimidad como heredero de Nápoles, aparecer ante sus contemporáneos como el nuevo princeps auspiciado por el Humanismo italiano y permanecer en la memoria cual César virtuoso. Dicho discurso está compuesto por numerosas y variadas piezas que van desde el campo de la numismática al de la sigilografía pasando por el de la azulejería o la epigrafía, por enumerar algunos, y entre las cuales destacan aquellas que contienen motes y símbolos que denotan alguna cualidad del soberano. El objetivo del presente artículo es, por tanto, analizar el uso que el monarca realizó de dichos lemas y divisas restableciendo su lugar dentro del programa político-cultural del Magnánimo según su cronología y motivación.

  Alfonso V the Magnanimous, King of Aragon (1416-1458), due tohis linking to the Neapolitan throne and his role in the European policy of theQuattrocento, built a speech of his image to represent himself to hiscontemporaries and to the posterity. His purpose was to prove his legitimacyas heir to Naples, to appear to his contemporaries as the new princepssponsored by the Italian Humanism and to remain in memory like a virtuousCaesar. This speech was composed of numerous and varied pieces rangingfrom the field of numismatics to Sigillography passing through the tilework orepigraphy, to name a few, and among which stand out from those containingmotes and symbols denoting some specific qualities of the sovereign.Therefore, the aim of this article is to analyze the use made by the king of thisslogans and badges and to restore their chronological and symbolic place in thepolitical and cultural program designed by the Magnanimous.
