Resumen de Los paneles interpretativos del patrimonio geológico del geoparque mundial UNESCO de Lanzarote y archipiélago Chinijo: Nueva infraestructura para el geoturismo

  El Geoparque UNESCO de Lanzarote y Archipiélago Chinijo dispone de centros de Arte Cultura y Turismo en los que se observan algunas estructuras geológicas y parte de la historia geológica de esta isla de origen volcánico. Con el fin de mejorar la divulgación de la geología y la experiencia turística a través de la comprensión del patrimonio geológico que subyace al paisaje volcánico, se han realizado 17 paneles interpretativos que serán instalados durante el año 2017 en las islas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa. Hasta ahora no existía información sobre algunos de los lugares de interés geológico más visitados por los turistas, como Los Hervideros, las Salinas del Janubio o El Golfo. En realidad, estos lugares del Geoparque son visitados por su espectacularidad paisajística y son los destinos más frecuentados por los turistas, junto con el Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. Con esta actuación, el Geoparque incrementa su oferta divulgativa al mismo tiempo que mejora las infraestructuras para el geoturismo con el fin de atraer la atención de los visitantes que, lejos de elegir su destino por la geología, visitan la isla movidos por otros factores.

  Lanzarote and Chinijo Islands UNESCO Global Geopark have several Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism in which some geological structures and part of the geological history of this volcanic island are observed. Therefore, in order to improve the outreach of geology and the tourist experience through the understanding of the geoheritage that underlies the volcanic landscape, 17 interpretative panels have been developed that will be installed during 2017 in Lanzarote and La Graciosa islands. Until now, there was no information on some of the most visited geological sites by tourists, such as Los Hervideros, Salinas del Janubio or El Golfo. In fact, these places are visited for their spectacular scenery and, together with Timanfaya National Park, are a must visit for any tourist. With this action, the Geopark improves its outreach information offer while upgrades the tourist infrastructure, trying to bring the attention of those tourists who, far from choosing their destination for its geology, visit the island moved by other factors.
