  Las instituciones públicas competentes en geoconservación han conseguido grandes logos, como han sido modificar la legislación sobre Patrimonio Natural y Biodiversidad española, o proponer una legislación específica sobre Patrimonio Geológico. Pero, compatibilizar geología y turismo sigue siendo un gran reto, ¿cómo conseguirla? El sector turístico es dinámico y cambiante con un sinfín de interacciones que hay que conocer para interpretar sus consecuencias. Pero la escasa formación y la necesidad de forjar alianzas con profesionales de diferentes procedencias hace imprescindible tomar iniciativas para ofertar servicios acordes con las demandas turísticas emergentes. Qeteo desarrolla servicios y proyectos de dinamización del patrimonio natural y cultural bajo las premisas de la Interpretación del Patrimonio. Su metodología permite establecer puentes sólidos entre los elementos paisajísticos y patrimoniales y la demanda turística. En esta comunicación se valora la Interpretación del Patrimonio como “herramienta” idónea y eficaz para la dinamización turística del patrimonio geológico.

  One of the greatest achievements reached by the Public Institution (in charge of the defence and valuation of Spanish geological heritage and biodiversity) has been proposing specific legislation in order to protect them. But, it has also been a challenge to introduce geology into the tourist area; how to achieve it? Tourism is a dynamic and changing sector because it is ruled by an endless number of interactions, which we must know to measure and interpret. We need to be aware of the lack of specific training and the need to build up alliances with other professionals to satisfy the current demand. Qeteo, develops services and projects of natural and cultural heritage under the premise of heritage interpretation. Given that, heritage interpretation works as a connection between the landscape elements and the visitor. In this communication the heritage interpretation is valued as a key tool to revitalize tourist actions.
