    El cáncer es una de las patologías con mayor morbimortalidad en el mundo. Sus tratamientos más conocidos que son la quimioterapia, la radioterapia y la cirugía, pese a ser eficaces afectan a células tumorales y sanas, causan bastante toxicidad y pueden llegar a producir la inmunosupresión. Frente a esto, se ha comenzado a utilizar un nuevo tipo de tratamiento conocido como inmunoterapia, con el cual conseguir un efecto antitumoral y estimular al sistema inmune. El papel de enfermería es muy importante, tanto para administrar este tratamiento como para observar y comunicar la evolución y los posibles efectos adversos.

    Cancer is one of the pathologies with the highest morbidity and mortality in the world. Its best-known treatments, which are chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, despite being effective, affect tumor and healthy cells, cause considerable toxicity and can lead to immunosuppression. Faced with this, a new type of treatment known as immunotherapy has begun to be used, with which to achieve an antitumor effect and stimulate the immune system. The role of nursing is very important, both in administering this treatment and in observing and communicating the evolution and possible adverse effects.
