El citomegalovirus (CMV) es un tipo de herpes, que puede permanecer en el organismo de una persona durante toda su vida, la persona infectada si su sistema inmune está en perfectas condiciones, no padecería síntoma alguno o en caso de padecerlos serían muy leves. En casos en que el sistema inmune se debilite, el CMV tiene la capacidad de poder reactivarse y con ello llegar a producir síntomas. Este virus desde que entra en contacto por primera vez con un organismo permanece en él siempre y puede activarse y desactivarse en cualquier momento en que las circunstancias le sean propicias1,2.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a type of herpes, which can remain in the body of a person throughout their life, the infected person if their immune system is in perfect condition, they would not suffer any symptoms or if they suffer they would be very mild.
