Resumen de Información geográfica voluntaria, etiquetas de lugares y patrimonio geológico de interés turístico

  La información experta sobre patrimonio geológico, como es el Inventario Español de Lugares de Interés Geológico (IELIG), coexiste en la web 2.0 con información geográfica voluntaria de carácter informal y en diferentes formatos. En este trabajo, a modo de ejemplo, hacemos un análisis sucinto de datos procedentes de etiquetas de lugares de la aplicación Google Maps asociadas a diversos lugares de interés geológico españoles de mayor interés turístico. Se han identificado algunos patrones en dichas etiquetas que pueden resultar de ayuda en el futuro para tratar de estimar el orden de magnitud del número de visitantes, la espectacularidad del lugar o la satisfacción de los turistas. Los contenidos de las etiquetas también pueden ser útiles como indicadores de seguimiento de las mejoras realizadas en servicios, equipamiento, actividades de divulgación del patrimonio geológico, etc.

  The expert information about geological heritage, such as that of the Spanish Geosite Inventory (IELIG), coexists in the Web 2.0 with informal volunteered geographic information available in different formats. We herein present a brief analysis of the data of the place labels of the Google Maps application associated to a selection of Spanish geosites with higher tourist interest. Some patterns have been identified in these place labels that may help in the future to try to estimate the order of magnitude of the number of visitors, the scenic value of the place or the satisfaction of the tourists. The data of the labels can also be useful as follow-up indicators of improvement actions affecting services, equipment, outreach activities, etc.
