Resumen de Entre la persecución y la instrucción: las comadronas y parteras diplomadas porteñas de inicios del siglo XX

El artículo se propone identificar, describir y analizar los discursos y regulaciones en torno a las tareas de las comadronas y parteras impulsados y desarrollados por parte de los médicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires de Argentina entre los años que van desde el inicio del siglo XX hasta la década del veinte. En el texto, se da cuenta del proceso de configuración del rol y la profesión de partera desde el punto de vista de los grupos médicos. Se describen las regulaciones y reglamentaciones, y también se hace referencia a los mecanismos de persecución y control de las parteras, en contrapunto con la institucionalización de esta función y su correlato en la creación de espacios de formación. A su vez se describe, desde el discurso médico, la forma en que son presentadas las pretendidas condiciones morales de las parteras de cara a su rol en la educación de las madres.

The article sets out to identify, describe and analyze the discourses and regulations around the tasks of midwives and midwives promoted and developed by the doctors of the City of Buenos Aires in Argentina between the years from the beginning of the 20th century until the twenties. In the text, the process of configuring the role and the profession of midwife from the point of view of the medical groups is reported. The regulations and regulations are described, and reference is also made to the mechanisms of persecution and control of midwives, in counterpoint to the institutionalization of this function and its correlate in the creation of training spaces. At the same time, it is described, from the medical discourse, the way in which the pretended moral conditions of the midwives are presented in view of their role in the education of mothers.
