    Com objetivo de investigar o estado do conhecimento das dissertações e teses produzidas no Brasil sobre temática futebol nas Engenharias de 1989 a 2018, a pesquisa buscou, recuperou e preparou os dados, dando-lhes tratamento estatístico, representação gráfica e interpretação. Os resultados mostram que o futebol é investigado por oito áreas, com preponderância da Engenharia de Produção, Biomédica e Elétrica; setenta estudos; predomínio das pesquisas quantitativas e de mestrado; sobre vibrações dos estádios de futebol, gestão de clubes, probabilidade dos resultados dos jogos e análise do chute. As conclusões deste estudo abrem novos campos de intervenção científica e mostram a fragmentação do conhecimento numa área com características multidisciplinares.

    The aim is to investigate the state of knowledge of the thesis and dissertations on football within Engineering produced in Brazil from 1989 to 2018. The research sought, recovered, and prepared the data, giving them statistical treatment, graphic representation and interpretation. The results show that football is investigated in eight areas; preponderance of Production, Biomedical and Electrical Engineering; seventy studies; predominant quantitative and masters research; about football stadium vibrations, club management, match results probability and kick analysis. The conclusions of this study indicated the opening of new fields of scientific intervention, fragmentation of knowledge and an area with multidisciplinary characteristics.
