Resumen de El arte contemporáneo en la era de la distopía como recurso didáctico para generar un mayor compromiso social y desarrollo del individuo

  En un momento como el actual, donde el horizonte dibuja un panorama poco halagüeño, no resulta extraño comprobar cómo la impotencia y la pasividad se apoderan de la ciudadanía. Un estado de ánimo que, bien mirado, quizá esté fomentado desde ciertos sectores para propiciar un mayor hedonismo individual como única vía de consolación. Propuesta a todas luces equívoca que deja vía libre para el desmantelamiento del llamado estado de bienestar. Viéndose este claramente laminado de un tiempo a esta parte, no estará de más propiciar una nueva concienciación sobre el valor del mismo, entendiéndolo como un frágil patrimonio que merece ser salvaguardado con urgencia. En pro de dicho fin entendemos que el arte, o al menos aquel menos autocomplaciente y más comprometido socialmente, está llamado a jugar un papel determinante. En este sentido, el arte contemporáneo deviene en un aliado que merece ser tenido en cuenta, encontrando en las prácticas caracterizadas por anular la barrera entre artista y espectador un valioso punto de apoyo. Es más, dicha anulación será clave para superar el hermetismo que suele acompañar a muchas manifestaciones creativas actuales y poder así incidir en el reforzamiento de la capacidad auto-transformadora del individuo a través del propio arte. Desde este enfoque, holístico y transversal, podrá propiciarse “otra” conciencia y un rol más activo en la ciudadanía, algo vital para mantener una sociedad cohesionada y justa, clave ello a su vez para lograr un mejor nivel de vida –material pero también mental y emocional– entre el mayor número de personas y colectivos.

  In a moment like the current one, where the horizon draws an unflattering panorama, it is not strange to see how impotence and passivity take over citizenship. A state of mind that, well looked at, may be encouraged from certain sectors to promote greater individual hedonism as the only way of consolation. Proposedly equivocal proposal that leaves a clear path for the dismantling of the so-called welfare state. Seeing this clearly laminated for some time to this part, it will not hurt to promote a new awareness about the value of it, understanding it as a fragile heritage that deserves to be safeguarded with urgency. In favor of this end we understand that art, or at least that less self-satisfied and more socially committed, is called to play a determining role. In this sense, contemporary art becomes an ally that deserves to be taken into account, finding in practices characterized by nullifying the barrier between artist and spectator a valuable point of support. Moreover, such cancellation will be key to overcoming the hermeticism that often accompanies many current creative manifestations and thus be able to influence the reinforcement of the self-transforming capacity of the individual through art itself. From this holistic and transversal approach, "another" conscience and a more active role in citizenship can be fostered, something vital to maintain a cohesive and just society, key in turn to achieve a better standard of living -material but also mental and emotional- among the greatest number of people and groups.
