The first half of the twentieth century in Brazil was marked by several factors that culminated in the consolidation of the country, among which it is possible to note political, economic, ideological, cultural factors, among others. Thus, working from ideological and cultural factors, specifically between 1905 and 1923, related to the arrival of football in Brazil and the struggle of blacks against the elitist and racist system that was still in place in the country, it will be possible not only to report football as a system of black resistance in a social field initially belonging to the elite, but also to understand the process of emancipation of the black as excluded and frowned upon by the elite of society.

A primeira metade do século XX no Brasil foi marcada por diversos fatores que culminaram na consolidação do país, dentre ele é possível notar fatores políticos, econômicos, ideológicos, culturais, dentre outros. Assim, trabalhando a partir dos fatores ideológicos e culturais, especificamente entre 1905 e 1923, relacionados com a chegada do futebol no Brasil e com a luta dos negros contra o sistema elitista e racista que ainda estava instaurado no país, será possível, não só relatar o futebol como sistema de resistência negra num campo social inicialmente pertencido pela elite, como também entender o processo de emancipação do negro enquanto excluído e malvisto pela elite da sociedade.
