Resumen de Ciencias sociales, riesgos y biología sintética: una revisión de la literatura

El artículo presenta una revisión de la investigación sobre los riesgos relacionados con la biología sintética desde las ciencias sociales, identificando sus principales líneas de investigación, sus problemáticas y los desafíos más relevantes que sus propios investigadores y promotores han calificado como importantes debido a las consecuencias sociales que podría tener. La revisión cubre 50 artículos indexados en Web of Science (WoS) y SCOPUS, publicados entre los años 2009 y abril de 2020. El trabajo identificó cuatro áreas de investigación sobre los riesgos de la biología sintética: riesgos, regulación, gobernanza y controversias, reconociendo los desafíos en cada uno de ellos.

The article presents a review of the research social science on the risks related to synthetic biology, identifying the main lines of research, their problems and the most relevant challenges, which their own researchers and promoters have described as being of high importance and incidence in the profound social consequences it could have. The review covers 50 articles indexed in Web of Science (WoS) and SCOPUS, published between 2009 and April 2020. The work identified four areas of research on the risks of synthetic biology: risks, regulation, governance, and controversies, recognizing the challenges and opportunities in each of them.
