En Joaquín M.ª López, que nació en Villena en 1798 y murió en Madrid en 1855, coinciden las características del político marcado por la revolución. Está integrado en una generación de abogados que acceden al poder y forman y sustentan una parte importante del funcionamiento político de la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Fue testigo en los periodos significativos del desmantelamiento legal del Antiguo Régimen y la revolución jurídica del Liberalismo. Su biografía reúne las características de un político isabelino, de una ideología basada en las leyes, intelectual, periodista y literato. En este trabajo se presentan los acontecimientos políticos más importantes que tuvieron como protagonista al eminente tribuno villenense, durante el período que ostentó la presidencia del gobierno de España.

In Joaquín M.ª López, who was born in Villena in 1798 and died in Madrid in 1855, the characteristics of the politician marked by the revolution coincide. It is integrated into a generation of lawyers who come to power and form and sustain an important part of the political functioning of the first half of the 19th century. He was a witness in the significant periods of the legal dismantling of the Old Regime and the legal revolution of Liberalism. His biography brings together the characteristics of an Elizabethan politician, of an ideology based on laws, intellectual, journalist and writer. This work presents the most important political events that had the eminent tribune of Villena as the protagonist, during the period that he held the presidency of the government of Spain.
