Educación y formación ciudadana: dimensiones filosóficas para su consideración

    La educación ciudadana ha sido un tema de notable interés para las ciencias sociales, en especial en el contexto actual, determinado por notables patrones de exclusión, marginación y asimetrías existentes en las regiones periféricas del planeta. Por esta razón, una educación para una ciudadanía global, intercultural y sustentable, se presenta como la oportunidad para pensar en imaginarios distintos a los impuestos por la racionalidad moderna, determinada por la explotación humana y natural, así como por un modelo económico, político y social sustentado en el liberalismo económico, dando una acentuada preponderancia a los intereses individuales y privados, sobre los bienes comunes de la humanidad. Ante esta realidad, la confección de una educación ciudadana, se convierte en sinónimo de lucha por la consolidación de un modelo educativo en concordancia con los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible, la promoción del diálogo intercultural y el avance hacia el reconocimiento universal de la diversidad y la dignidad humana.

    Citizenship education has been a subject of notable interest for the social sciences, especially in the current context, determined by notable patterns of exclusion, marginalization and asymmetries existing in the peripheral regions of the planet. For this reason, an education for a global, intercultural and sustainable citizenship is presented as the opportunity to think in imaginary different from those imposed by modern rationality, determined by human and natural exploitation, as well as by an economic, political and economic model based on economic liberalism, giving an accentuated preponderance to individual and private interests, over the common goods of humanity. Faced with this reality, the creation of a citizenship education becomes synonymous with the struggle for the consolidation of an educational model in accordance with the objectives of sustainable development, the promotion of intercultural dialogue and progress towards the universal recognition of diversity and diversity human dignity.
