Aunque el hallazgo del templo construido en tiempos augusteos en el foro de colonia Augusta Firma se ha dado a conocer en diferentes publicaciones, no se ha llegado nunca a presentar de forma conjunta la abundante información recuperada sobre su morfología y aspecto, aprovechando que parte de la estructura quedó amortizada in situ, con motivo de su abandono y derrumbe. Si bien buena parte de la que puede considerarse “decoración arquitectónica” al uso es quizá poco llamativa, por estar realizada en calcarenita estucada, la excepcionalidad del conjunto estriba en el hecho de haberse conservado muy diferentes elementos ornamentales y constructivos –metálicos, estucados, marmóreos– que completan la apariencia original del edificio. Estos, quizá, sirven para hacer mayor justicia al que sería el acabado habitual de este tipo de construcciones, solo muy raramente conocido.

Although the discovery of the temple of the forum of colonia Augusta Firma, built in Augustan times, has been presented in different publications, the abundant information recovered concerning its morphology and appearance has never been presented together, taking advantage of the fact that part of the structure was amortised in situ, due to its abandonment and collapse. While a substantial part of what can be commonly considered “architectural decoration” is perhaps not very striking, since it is made in stucco limestone, the exceptionality of the complex lies in the fact that very different ornamental and constructive elements –metal, stucco, marble– have been preserved, aiding to understand the original appearance of the building. These, perhaps, serve to appreciate what would be the usual termination for this kind of construction, only very rarely known.
