    El estudio de la decoración arquitectónica de Carthago Nova ha permitido constatar la temprana introducción de modelos y programas edilicios asociados al uso de los órdenes arquitectónicos y la estrecha relación establecida con las regiones centro y suritálica desde el siglo II a.C., refrendando las conclusiones obtenidas a través del estudio de la pintura y el mosaico. En este artículo se transciende el perímetro urbano y se amplía al territorio que pivotó en torno a la ciudad portuaria, donde, posiblemente, actuaron talleres especializados procedentes de aquélla. En este sentido, los estudios de decoración arquitectónica se han centrado sobre todo en el ámbito urbano, de ahí que con este trabajo queramos llamar la atención sobre la necesidad de abarcar espacios más amplios que permitan correlacionar ciudad y territorio, estudiando materiales, a veces descontextualizados pero no por ello menos interesantes para poder obtener una visión integral de la arquitectura romana en Hispania.

    The study of the architectural decoration of Carthago Nova has made it possible to confirm the early introduction of building models and programmes associated with the use of architectural orders and the close relationship established with the central and south-eastern regions from the 2nd century BC. This confirms the conclusions obtained through the study of painting and mosaics. This article goes beyond the urban perimeter and extends to the territory with a certain dependency to the port city, where, possibly, specialized workshops from there were active. In this sense, studies of architectural decoration have focused mainly on the urban sphere, which is the reason why with this work we wish to draw attention to the need to cover wider spaces that allow us to correlate city and territory, studying materials that are sometimes decontextualized, but no less interesting, to obtain a comprehensive view of Roman architecture in Hispania.
