In Roman Republican coinage there are many issues referred to as ‘anonymous’. While some so-called anonymous issues have symbols or letter(s) which are not yet fully understood, there are also issues which are fully anonymous – lacking symbol, letter(s) or name. Here we discuss two issues of this latter type. They have been previously discussed by McCabe, as well as in several auction catalogs, but they have not yet been fully identified with confident attributions and dating. In this paper, we seek to extract these issues from their imprecise groups, establish them as independent issues, and put them in their correct positions chronologically. To leave Crawford’s existing numbers intact, we have numbered these two issues by adding an A to the most similar issues in RRC.
