    The main purpose of this study was to review the movie La partita (title in Portuguese: Decisão), that began to be exhibited by Netflix in 2020. This feature film focuses mainly on a teenage football competition, permeated by two bets. The president of the Sporting Roma bets 50 thousand euros in its victory to pay for the installation of artificial grass in the stadium G.S. Quaticciolo, a service hired by his son, a chemical dependent that generates debts, affecting the club’s finances. On the other hand, the team’s main athlete’s father bets on the defeat, and yet coerces his son to play badly and lose. Although the quality of the artwork is questionable, this plot clearly exemplifies that football goes beyond the limits of the pitch through actions performed over it, characteristic that legitimizes it as one of the objects of the Human and Social Sciences.

    O objetivo deste estudo foi resenhar o filme La partita (título em português: Decisão), que começou a ser exibido pela Netflix em 2020. Esse longa-metragem aborda centralmente a final de uma competição futebolística de jovens, permeada por duas apostas. O presidente do Sporting Roma aposta 50 mil euros na sua vitória para pagar à instalação de grama sintética no estádio G. S. Quarticciolo, serviço contratado por seu filho, um dependente químico que gera dívidas, comprometendo as finanças do clube. Já o pai do principal atleta da equipe aposta na derrota, e ainda coage o filho a jogar mal e perder. Ainda que a qualidade da obra seja discutível, esse enredo ilustra claramente que o futebol transcende os limites do campo de jogo por meio de práticas sobre esse realizadas, característica que o legitima como um dos objetos das Ciências Humanas e Sociais.
