    En este artículo se analiza la representación de los elementos que vinculan afectivamente a los emigrantes ecuatorianos con su país de origen y que alimentan el sueño del retorno, según la recreación literaria realizada en los cuentos publicados entre 1981 y el 2013. Con fundamento en los referentes teóricos devenidos de algunas ciencias sociales y humanas (filosofía, sociología, psicología) se concluye que existe una abundante representación en torno a la aspiración de regreso al Ecuador de parte de los emigrantes. Para la presentación de los resultados, el contenido del estudio se distribuye en cuatro acápites, en los que se fundamenta, ejemplifica y analiza la recreación literaria de los aspectos que mantienen vivo el sueño de retornar al Ecuador y que aluden a lo siguiente: la nostalgia por el Ecuador y los seres queridos que permanecen en él; los recuerdos y la memoria entre los emigrantes; las permanentes reflexiones sobre la pertinencia del viaje emigratorio y el sueño de retornar al Ecuador, al que no renuncian jamás los emigrantes mientras permanecen en el extranjero.

    This article analyzes the representation of the elements that affectively link Ecuadorian migrants with their country of origin and the dream of returning back, according to the literary creation made in stories published between 1981 and 2013. Based on theoretical references from some social and human sciences (philosophy, sociology, psychology) it is concluded that there is abundant representation about the aspiration of returning back to Ecuador from migrants. For the presentation of the results, the content of the study is divided into four sections, on which it is based, illustrates and analyzes the literary recreation of the aspects that keep alive the dream of returning back to Ecuador and they refer to the following: nostalgia by their country, Ecuador, and their loved ones who remain in it; memories and remembrance among migrants; permanent reflections on the relevance of migratory journey; and the dream of returning back to Ecuador, to which migrants never give up migrants while they are staying abroad.
