    In this work we discuss from Vattimo and Rubem Alves on the relations and mutual contributions between the concepts of religion and language giving answers to the problematic of how they relate beyond the notion of religious language. We first indicate how the area of religion languages, in Brazil, thinks the relation between religion and language. We continue to think about how the concept of religion contributes to the concept of language and vice versa. Finally, we present a discussion about how our reflections interact with the theories of religion and, therefore, with the epistemology of the religious studies

    Neste trabalho dialogamos a partir de Vattimo e Rubem Alves sobre as relações e mútuas contribuições entre os conceitos de religião e de linguagem para dar respostas a problemática de como eles se relacionam para além da noção de linguagem religiosa. Para isso, indicamos, primeiramente, como a área de linguagens da religião pensa a rela-ção entre religião e linguagem. Prosseguimos pensando como o conceito de religião con-tribui para o conceito de linguagem e vice--versa. Por fim, apresentamos uma discussão sobre como nossas reflexões interagem com as teorias da religião e, por isso, com a epis-temologia da ciência da religião
