In this study changes in the coastline between the harbor of Castellon and Sagunto for over fifty years have been analyzed. Coastlines of different years have been obtained from different sources (aerial photographs, satellite images and orthophotos) in order to estimate rates of advance and retreat of beach line through comparison of them. The results indicate a widespread erosion tendency, recording high rates of accretion only in the interference of maritime infrastructures (dams, jetties, ports) transverse to the current longshore, or as consequent of anthropogenic sediments supplied to tourist attractions.
