Resumen de Covid Photo Diaries: Activismo en la comunicación visual de la pandemia del Covid-19

Analizamos las fotografías de Covid Photo Diaries realizadas durante la pandemia para evidenciar su discordancia con las fotografías de los medios de comunicación. Reconocemos, así, dos lugares para la producción fotográfica, la oficial y la de Covid Photo Diaries, como activista por su aporte a la ampliación de las representaciones sociales de la enfermedad, desde una perspectiva socio-afectiva omitida por el discurso oficial global. Sus fotografías invitan a traspasar los estereotipos estigmatizantes de la enfermedad y consiguen desestabilizar el imaginario dominante difundido por los medios de comunicación, favoreciendo la construcción de un discurso afectivo que abarca las diferentes vivencias humanas.

We analyzed the Covid Photo Diaries’s photographs taken during the pandemic to show their disagreement with the photographs of the media. Thus, we recognize two places for photographic production, the official one and Covid Photo Diaries’s, as an activist, for their contribution to the expansion of social representations of the disease from a socio-affective perspective omitted by the global official discourse. This photographs invite us to go beyond the stigmatizing stereotypes of the disease and manage to destabilize the dominant imagery disseminated by the media, to favor the construction of an affective discourse that includes the different human experiences.
