    Los monarcas ilustrados van a intentar ofrecer una imagen idealizada en la que destaca su labor como protectores del patrimonio histórico, reflejo de la antigüedad y gloria del pasado. Esta labor de protección va a dar lugar a la elaboración de un marco institucional y legal de defensa del patrimonio arqueológico cada vez más completo, y a la recogida y conservación por parte del Estado de los hallazgos realizados. Ambas actividades van a tener su reflejo en la documentación administrativa, principalmente en la de la Secretaría de Estado y del Despacho de Estado

    The Enlightened monarchs will try to offer an idealized image that would remark their labor as protectors of the historical heritage, which is a reflection of the ancient times and the glory of the past. This protective labor will lead to the development of an institutional and legal frame of defense of the archaeological heritage, increasingly complete; and to the withdrawal and conservation by the State of the findings made.
