The present paper aims to list the concepts of History, Region and Border under a regional analysis perspective of the historical proccess that was the Federalist Revolution (1893-1895), with the thematic delimitiation in the western border region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the municipalities of São Borja, Itaqui and Uruguaiana. Thus, at first, the concept of region will be discussed, and what this therm currently means in historiography, as well as the border relations, and the complexity that it generates in economic, political e social relations. Subsequently, was sought to understand how the Federalist Revolution conflict originated, what were the political motivations that culminated in the war, and how this conflict developed in the western border of the state, utilizing as primary source the municipalities telegrams related to the the conflict.
