    El primer terç del segle xx representa la confluència a París d’una sèrie d’intel·lectuals negres provinents d’arreu d’Àfrica, de les Antilles i dels Estats Units. Malgrat les diferències d’origen i de propòsits, de mica en mica es van reunint per fer front a la mirada dels europeus sobre els negres percebuts com a primitius i exòtics. L’interès d’aquests autors per la literatura i l’etnologia, així com un fort compromís polític, els portarà a repensar la pròpia identitat en terra estrangera.     The first third of the twentieth century represents the confluence in Paris of a series of black intellectuals from all over Africa, the West Indies, and the United States. Despite differences in origin and purpose, they gradually came together to confront the gaze of Europeans on blacks perceived as primitive and exotic. The interest of these authors in literature and ethnology, as well as a strong political commitment, will lead them to rethink their own identity in a foreign land. It will be the beginning of the Blackness movement.  KEYWORDS: Blackness, ethnology, literature, Paris.
