The audiovisual record of the voluntary consumption by all types of mammals of fruit fermented to alcoholic levels, as well as of other psychotropic substances, shows that the pleasure principle is not exclusive to human beings. The cathexis it unleashes is located in the so-called reptilian brain, that which houses the deepest part of the human subconscious, which, along certain lines of Darwinian theories, would be directly related, not only to the ancestors of the species, but to other species of mammals.
