Resumen de “Um jeito negro de ser e viver”: (re) inventando a vida no contexto da pandemia da covid-19 – o que dizem as crianças negras e suas mães

The article aims to analyze how the lives of black children at a Municipal Education Center (CMEI) in Salvador - and their mothers - have been (re) invented in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. To this end, racism is discussed, a structural element of society, legal documents that support children and childhood highlighting the right to life and education, making a counterpoint with the narratives of the research subjects. From a theoretical-methodological point of view, it is an exploratory qualitative approach, supported by Rosemberg (1996), Cavalleiro (2003), Dias (2007), Abramovicz (2016), Nunes (2016), Franco; Ferreira (2017), among others. The results found show that ethnic-racial belonging and material conditions of existence organize the lives of the research subjects. It is concluded that black children and their mothers have a “black way of being and living” (MAKOTA VALDINA, 2005), anchored in Afro-Brazilian civilizing values (TRINDADE, 2010), and that this impacts on the way they (re ) invent life, building individual and / or collective strategies to be in the world.

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar como a vida das crianças negras de um Centro Municipal de Educação (CMEI) em Salvador - e de suas mães - tem sido (re) inventadas no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19. Para tanto, discute-se o racismo, elemento estruturante da sociedade, documentas legais que amparam as crianças e as infâncias destacando o direito à vida e a educação, fazendo um contraponto com as narrativas dos sujeitos da pesquisa. Do ponto de vista teórico-metodológico é uma abordagem qualitativa de cunho exploratório, respaldada por Rosemberg (1996), Cavalleiro (2003), Dias (2007), Abramovicz (2016), Nunes (2016), Franco; Ferreira (2017), entre outros. Os resultados encontrados apontam que o pertencimento étnico-racial e as condições materiais de existência organizam a vida dos sujeitos da pesquisa. Conclui-se que as crianças negras e suas mães têm um “jeito negro de ser e viver” (MAKOTA VALDINA, 2005), ancorado nos valores civilizatórios afro-brasileiros (TRINDADE, 2010), e que isso impacta na forma como elas (re) inventam a vida, construindo estratégias individuais e/ou coletivas para ser/estar no mundo.
