    En la pos Guerra Fría diversos confl ictos provocaron catástrofes humanitarias y amenazaron la paz internacional. La sociedad internacional respondió mediante distintas formas de intervenciones humanitarias que cuestionaban la soberanía y el principio de no intervención, pilares fundamentales del orden internacional. Este artículo identifi ca y caracteriza las distintas respuestas humanitarias: las Operaciones de Paz, las intervenciones unilaterales, y la Responsabilidad de Proteger (RdP). También examina cómo se posicionan los países latinoamericanos frente a estas acciones y la RdP, analizando si estos países han logrado acuerdos mínimos y si presentan una posición común en el ámbito de las Naciones Unidas.

    In the post-Cold War, various confl icts provoked humanitarian catastrophes and threatened international peace. International society responded through diff erent forms of humanitarian interventions that questioned sovereignty and the principle of nonintervention, fundamental pillars of the international order. This article identifi es and characterizes the diff erent humanitarian responses of international society: Peace Operations, unilateral interventions, and the Responsibility to Protect (RtoP). It also examines how Latin American countries position themselves in front of these actions and the RtoP, analyzing whether these countries have reached minimal agreements, and whether they present a common position within the United Nations.
