Resumen de Acciones de salud pública en Jalisco, 1917-1943: creación de organismos, vacunación y estadística

  El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las acciones de salud pública en Jalisco en el periodo comprendido entre 1917 y 1943, a partir del análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de la información derivada de la revisión documental de acervos estatales, informes de gobierno y censos. Se plantea que la creación de organismos de salud pública, la vacunación y la estadística fueron algunas de las acciones que se consolidaron e institucionalizaron durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, con el fin de conocer, prevenir y combatir las enfermedades.

  The objective of this article is to analyze actions in the area of public health taken in Jalisco between 1917 and 1943, through a qualitative and quantitative analysis of information derived from the documentary review of state files, government reports, national censuses and statistical sources. It proposes that the creation of public health organisms, the implementation of vaccination campaigns, and the collection of statistical data were some of the actions that became consolidated and institutionalized during the first half of the 20th century as means of identifying, preventing and combatting diseases.
