  • An introduction to the Symposium 16 on Fractals and Geology is presented in this contribution. A summary on fractal concepts and natural geometrical fractal patterns are showed. Finally, computational simulations of natural geological structures are performed, using techniques of lterated Function Systems (IFS of Barnsley, 1988).
