Entre o Sacro e o Profano, entre o Gozo e o Interdito: a polêmica, prolífica e profícua Santa Teresa de Ávila

    Teresa of Ávila was a writer, a nun and a Catholic saint, very different from the other counterparts of hers. Art, in all its forms of expression, has explored to exhaustion both this paradigm-breaking figure and her unique literary legacy and the eroticism that emanates from her naturally or not - depending on the context. In order to discuss about her, living up to her importance and charisma, we briefly analyzed her life and work in this article. Notably ahead of her time, this empowered woman challenged the Church with her erotic sacred poetry, from her own elans towards Jesus Christ. We believe in the relevance of this work due to its unprejudiced approach, whose academic treatment turns to a well-studied topic, but not enough, in our view. For this reason, we briefly analyze, in this bibliographical survey, the sexualized poetic discourse of Teresa of Ávila in the light of Bataille (1957), Mesonero (2013) and Pedrosa-Pádua (2011) - just to name a few. We conclude that the poetry impregnated with eroticism by this author deserves further study to give it recognition, since she dared to challenge the phallocentric and Judeo-Christian discourse of a Spain sliced ​​between the overseas conquests in the New Continent, the battles of the Counter-reform for the eradication of heretics in Spanish territory, and the dissemination of the Holy Inquisition - which was aimed at her and imposed itself against her.

    Teresa de Ávila foi uma escritora, freira e santa católica muito diferente de outras congêneres suas. A Arte, em todas as suas formas de expressão, tem explorado à exaustão tanto sua figura quebradora de paradigmas como seu legado literário ímpar e o erotismo que dela emana natural ou forçosamente – a depender do contexto. No intuito de discorrer sobre ela, fazendo jus à sua importância e carisma, analisamos brevemente sua vida e sua obra nesse artigo. Notadamente à frente de seu tempo, essa mulher empoderada desafiou a Igreja com sua poesia sacra erotizada, a partir de seus próprios elãs quanto a Jesus Cristo. Acreditamos na relevância desse trabalho devido à sua abordagem destituída de preconceitos, cujo tratamento acadêmico volta-se para um tema bastante estudado, mas não o suficiente, ao nosso ver. Por essa razão, analisamos brevemente, nesse levantamento bibliográfico, o discurso poético sexualizado de Teresa de Ávila à luz de Bataille (1957), Mesonero (2013) e Pedrosa-Pádua (2011) - apenas para citar alguns. Concluímos que a poesia impregnada de erotismo desta autora merece estudos mais aprofundados para que se lhe dê o devido reconhecimento, uma vez que ela ousou desafiar o discurso falocêntrico e judaico-cristão de uma Espanha fatiada entre as conquistas ultramarinas no Novo Continente, as batalhas da Contrarreforma pela erradicação dos hereges em território espanhol e a disseminação dos desmandos da Santa Inquisição – que a tinha sob mira e que contra ela impôs-se.
