    • Over the last years, the transformation of the digital scenario and its effects on public service media have pushed European corporations to redefine their role including participatory practices in content production and distribution among young citizens through social networks. Young people have seen an opportunity to use these channels to promote and claim their rights, needs, and demands to gain influence in the public sphere. This paper focuses on the study of participatory strategies for social change that young activists use to raise awareness, lobby, and gain influence and attention to their rights in European Public Service Media. The main question posed in this contribution is how young activists plan, develop, and measure participatory strategies in European public service media networks. This question is fundamental for identifying the models used by young people to design and implement their participatory strategies and understanding the impact that these processes have in social change, where public media play a fundamental role as amplifiers of their voices. The power tensions between the interests of young activists and public media, the sharing of values such as democracy, plurality, freedom of expression, and the different participatory models in the European public media landscape define the field of this research. The methodology used to study these three models consisted of the review of the participatory framework on social networks of Spain RTVE Playz, Belgium RTBF Tarmac, and Norway NRK. The aim is to obtain a current picture of the state of participatory strategies for social change led by young people in the public service media in Europe to show which approaches are best suited to encourage participation and have greater impact on processes of social change.
