Los trabajos de fin de grado en ingeniería varían dependiendo del sistema educativo. En México, de los años noventa a la fecha se han diversificado sus modalidades. El informe técnico de residencia profesional (ITRP) es una opción para graduarse de institutos tecnológicos federales mexicanos en pregrado. Se muestran los resultados del análisis de 19 ITRP de Ingeniería Mecánica. Los informes fueron asesorados por seis profesores de base. Se describe la estructura de los documentos, su estilo y las movidas retóricas [1] de las introducciones y conclusiones. Las estructuras y estilos de los informes varían entre ellos. En las introducciones de los ITRP analizados se enfatiza el área donde fueron realizadas las actividades y es infrecuente la aparición del tópico principal y detectar la problemática a abordar. Es hasta la conclusión donde aparece la relevancia de la temática como prototípica, a diferencia de lo que ocurre en las tesis.

Final degree projects in engineering vary depending on the educational system. In Mexico, from the 1990s to date, its modalities have diversified. The professional residency technical report (ITRP) is an option for graduating from Mexican federal technological institutes at the undergraduate level. The results of the analysis of 19 ITRPs in Mechanical Engineering are shown. The reports were advised by six core professors. The structure of the papers, their style and the rhetorical moves [1] of the introductions and conclusions are described. The structures and styles of the reports vary among them. In the introductions of the analyzed ITRPs, the area where the activities were carried out is emphasized and the appearance of the main topic and the detection of the problem to be addressed is infrequent. It is only in the conclusion where the relevance of the topic appears as prototypical, unlike what happens in the theses.
