La presencia eclesiástica en las Cortes de Cádiz: el liderazgo realista de Jaime Creus Martí

    Resumen:El objetivo del presente artículo es mostrar la incidencia que tuvieron los miembros de la Iglesia presentes en las Cortes de Cádiz a través de la figura del canónigo Jaime Creus Martí. En el Parlamento gaditano, un 30 % de los diputados fueron eclesiásticos por lo que gran parte de sus figuras políticas pertenecieron a esta categoría social. Uno de los líderes realistas del momento fue Jaime Creus, que dirigió la política particularista de la mayoría de los diputados catalanes y fue uno de los dirigentes clave del tradicionalismo político en España.

    The objective of this article is to show the impact that the members of the Church present in the Cortes de Cádiz had through the figure of the canon Jaime Creus Martí. In the Cadiz Parliament, 30% of the deputies were ecclesiastical, so much of their political figures belonged to this social category. One of the reactionary leaders of the moment was Jaime Creus, who led the provincialist policy of the majority of Catalan deputies and was one of the key leaders of reactionary antiliberalism in Spain.
