    La presente investigación se desarrolló con el objetivo de determinar la calidadde las semillas de Teramnus labialis(L.f.) Spreng, cultivar “Semilla Oscura”, cuando son almacenadas en condiciones artesanales.Los experimentos se realizaron en el Laboratorio de Fisiología Vegetal de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad de Ciego de Ávila Máximo Gómez Báez. Se utilizaron semillas cosechadasen la finca “La Esperanza” en el mes de febrero del año 2016. Las mismas se almacenaron por tres años y se evaluó la viabilidad, vigor y la germinación en siete momentos durante este tiempo (0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24 y 36 meses). A través delos datos de germinaciónse determinó el índice de germinación (IG), tiempomedio de germinación (TMG) y la velocidadde germinación (VG). La viabilidad se mostró superior al 85% en todos los momentosevaluados, en tanto el total desemillas convigoralto decreció con elalmacenamiento desdeel75% en el primer año hastael 59%el tercer año.La germinación no mostró diferencias estadísticas durante los tres años de almacenamiento y los valores se registraron entre 28y 35%.El IG, el TMG y la VG fueronmejorespara las semillas almacenadas durante el primer año, pues disminuyeronpara los dos últimos años.Se arribó a la conclusión que la viabilidad y la germinación de las semillas no varió significativamentedurante el almacenamiento, mientras que el vigordisminuyó después de12meses de almacenamiento.

    The present investigation was developed with the objective of determining the quality of the seeds of Teramnus labialis(L.f.) Spreng, cultivar “Semilla Oscura”, when they are stored under artisanal conditions. The experiments were carried out in the Plant Physiology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Ciego de Ávila Máximo Gómez Báez. Seeds harvested at the “La Esperanza” farm in February 2016. They were stored for three years and viability, vigor and germination were evaluated at seven points during this time (0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24 and 36 months). The germination index (GI), mean germination time (MGT) and the germination rate(GR) were determined using the germination data. Viability was above 85% at all times evaluated, while total seeds with high vigor decreased with storage from 75% in the first year to 59% in the third year. Germination did not show statistical differences during the three years of storage and the values were recorded between 28 and 35%. The GI, MGTand GRwere better for the seeds stored during the first year, as they decreased for the last two years. It was concluded that the viability and germination of the seeds did not vary significantly during storage, while the vigor decreased after 12 months of storage.
