    Los Sistemas de Gestión son de vital importancia en la planificación, dirección y lavigilanciade todos los aspectos de una empresa, así comoparael proceso de toma de decisiones. Pueden ser aplicados en la gestión ambiental para el control de la generación de residuos y desechos sólidos, problemática de esta investigación, que es uno de los grandes problemas a nivel mundial que afectan hoy el medio ambiente. Las herramientas informáticas son de gran utilidad en la esfera ambiental, contribuyen a unmejor tratamiento de estos residuos y desechos que se generan y que pueden contaminar el medio.Algunos de los softwaresinternacionales estudiados son: SoftExpert, Poligab, Ecoelvex,donde se utilizó como métodos y técnicasde investigaciónel histórico-lógico, análisis, síntesisy la encuesta entre los principales. Planta Mecánica es una de las empresas delpaís que genera desechos peligrosos a partir de sus producciones,pero tiene establecida la metodologíapara la gestión adecuada deestos, con el objetivo de minimizar la contaminación ambiental. Elproceso es controlado periódicamente a través del Plan de Manejo, el mismo se realiza de forma manual o utilizando la herramienta Microsoft Word.En este artículo sepresentaSiGestPMuna herramientacuyo objetivo es favorecer la gestión ambiental llevada a cabo en la Empresa Planta Mecánica“Fabric Aguilar”de Santa Claraen cuanto residualespeligrosos. Como resultados positivosde la investigaciónse humanizó el trabajo encuanto al tiempo en el que realizaba y se obtuvo la importanteLicencia Ambiental delpróximo periodo.
