    La Venerable Orden Tercera de San Francisco, conocida hoy como Orden Franciscana Seglar, suscitó gran interés a fines del siglo xix e inicios del siglo xx. Fue considerada por León XIII como una de las instituciones más adecuadas para llevar adelante un proceso de renovación espiritual en la cristiandad. Los frailes de la provincia española de la Inmaculada Concepción hicieron eco de ese optimismo y se avocaron a su propagación por toda la isla de Mallorca. Además, desde la revista El Heraldo de Cristo, se buscó dar a conocer también su origen y evolución. Fr. Miguel Quetglas presentó mensualmente, por espacio de cuatro años (1928-1931), sus averiguaciones sobre la Venerable Orden Tercera de San Francisco, desde el siglo xiii hasta la actualidad. El presente texto comenta escuetamente el contenido de sus dos primeras ediciones: enero y febrero de 1928.

    The Venerable Third Order of San Francisco, known today as the Secular Franciscan Order, aroused great interest in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was considered by Leo XIII as one of the most suitable institutions to carry out a process of spiritual renewal in Christendom. The friars of the Spanish province of the Immaculate Conception echoed this optimism and advocated its spread throughout the island of Mallorca. In addition, the magazine El Heraldo de Cristo also sought to publicize its origin and evolution. Fr. Miguel Quetglas presented monthly, for four years (1928-1931), his inquiries about the Venerable Third Order of San Francisco, from the 13th century to the present day. This text briefly comments on the content of its first two editions: January and February 1928.
