Desde los primeros iurisconsultos romanos, existen reiteradas referencias en torno a la ética y tal es así que, actualmente existen trabajos tan profundos y creativos en torno a la ética por autores de la talla de Coutore, Calamendari, Ossorio, Smith, Habermas, Apel, Hart, Aramburo y Machado, Fernández Bulté y esto por solo citar a algunos que han tratado el tema desde la filosofía del derecho. Mucho papel, tinta y pluma se ha empleado desde Platón hasta hoy, a través de la ética, dilucidar cuando el comportamiento humano es bueno, correcto, que es obligatorio o que es permitido.
