  Malgrat que encara no és un mètode habitual, la catàlisi asimètrica a través de l’esfera de coordinació d’un complex metàl·lic és cada cop més utilitzada. En aquest tipus de catàlisi, la reacció es produeix amb exclusivitat en els lligands i el metall actua simplement com a punt d’assemblatge, bastint la geometria adequada, però sense participar d’una manera directa en el mecanisme de la reacció. Podem parlar, doncs, d’organocatàlisi estructurada al voltant d’un metall. En aquest article discutirem alguns exemples destacats de la bibliografia sobre el tema, incloent-hi el nostre propi treball.Paraules clau: Catàlisi asimètrica, esfera de coordinació, autoassemblatge.

  In spite of not yet being a common method, asymmetric catalysis through the coordination sphere of a metal complex is becoming increasingly used. In this type of catalysis, the reaction takes place in the ligands alone, while the metal centre behaves simply as an assembly point, building the correct geometry but without direct participation in the reaction mechanism. This may consequently be said to involve organocatalysis structured around a metal. In this paper, we will discuss some notable examples from the literature on the subject, including our own work.Keywords: Asymmetric catalysis, coordination sphere, self-assembly.
