Resumen de Desde la intimidad del hogar: las riñas conyugales en Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, 1700-1750

La presente investigación está dirigida al estudio de los comportamientos violentos dentro del matrimonio en Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, durante la primera mitad del siglo xviii. Por medio del análisis de los procesos criminales recabados por el Centro de Documentación Microfilmada del Ex Convento de Tiripetío, se mostrarán las características que tenían las riñas conyugales, las causas que las originaban y los grupos sociales involucrados en ellas. El abordaje se hace desde tres perspectivas: la violencia conyugal justificada legal y socialmente; la relación entre los celos, la infidelidad y la violencia; y finalmente, el maltrato y el engaño. Todo esto permite conocer la ideología y la conducta de la época en lo referente a la infidelidad y la violencia en las relaciones amorosas.

This investigation is directed at the study of violent behaviors carried out within marriage in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, during the first half of the 18th century.
Through the analysis of the criminal processes collected in the Microfilmed Documentation Center of the Former Convent of Tiripetío, the characteristics that the marital quarrels had, the causes that originated them and the social groups involved in them will be shown. The approach is made from three perspectives:
legally and socially justified conjugal violence; the relationship between jealousy, infidelity and violence; and finally, abuse and deception. All of which allows to know the ideology and behavior of the time, in relation to infidelity and violence in love relationships.
