    A pesar del largo tiempo transcurrido desde el final de la dictadura franquista, las ideas con las que interpretó la historia reciente han permanecido ocultas en los pliegues del sistema educativo de la democracia. A ello ha contribuido el peculiar modelo de transición, que apostó por no revisar críticamente ese pasado para no problematizar la estabilidad; la inercia resistente al cambio curricular; la acomodación a una secuencia cronológica en la enseñanza de la Historia avalada por un academicismo obsoleto; y la búsqueda de un denominador común por parte de la industria editorial

    Despite the long time that has passed since the end of Franco’s dictatorship, the ideas with which recent history has been interpreted have remained hidden in the folds of the democratic education system. The peculiar model of the Transition, which opted not to critically review the past so as not to problematize stability, the inertia resistant to curricular change, the accommodation to a chronological sequence in the teaching of History endorsed by an obsolete academicism, and the search for a common denominator on the part of the publishing industry have all contributed to this. The current context of legislative reform regarding democratic memory and school curricula is an unbeatable opportunity to remedy these defects
