El proceso de intervención del Hospicio Ruiz Dávila, edificio decimonónico ubicado en el Centro Histórico de Lima, fue llevado a cabo entre los años 2010 y 2012. Asimismo, las obras concluidas fueron inauguradas en junio de este último año. En el desarrollo de los trabajos, se dieron una serie de etapas como el acondicionamiento de los ambientes, el desmontaje de algunas estructuras, los trabajos constructivos, los trabajos complementarios, el seguimiento, la documentación de la obra y, finalmente, su inauguración. Todo ello fue realizado no por obra de una sola persona, sino por un grupo nutrido de profesionales con diversas habilidades y amplia trayectoria, cuya labor conjunta se puede apreciar el día de hoy. El producto final ha tenido, sin embargo, tanto sus críticos como sus defensores. En el primer grupo, se hallan sobre todo estudiantes universitarios y algunas autoridades del sector cultura; la razón de su discrepancia es el nuevo uso y la introducción de materiales modernos. En el ala opuesta, está la comunidad de arquitectos, cuya aprobación se hizo claramente manifiesta con la entrega oficial de algunos premios a quienes estuvieron al frente de la intervención.

The process of intervention of the Ruiz Dávila Hospice, a nineteenth-century building located in the Historic Center of Lima, was carried out between 2010 and 2012. Furthermore, the finished works were inaugurated in June of this last year. In the development of the works, there were a series of stages such as the conditioning of the environments, the dismantling of some structures, the construction works, the complementary works, the follow-up, the documentation of the work and finally its inauguration. All this was done not by the work of a single person, but by a group of professionals with diverse skills and extensive experience, whose joint work can be seen today. The final product has had, however, both its critics and its defenders. In the first group, there are mostly university students and some authorities of the culture sector, the reason of their discrepancy being the new use and the introduction of modern materials. In the opposite wing, there is the community of architects, whose approval was clearly manifested with the official delivery of some prizes to those who were in charge of the intervention.
