    El presente artículo toma algunas novelas de Shanghái y de Barcelona del siglo XX como objetos de investigación. Se estudian las metáforas de la casa,y se analizan las funciones de sus límites y fronteras en la narración, como la puerta, la ventana y el balcón, especialmente el caso de que aparecen disparidades espaciales y conflictos en la historia. Además, en el presente trabajo también se investiga la narración de los límites en espacios públicos de ambas metrópolis, como la calle y el río, y se estudian sus significados culturales para las dos ciudades.

    This paper takes some novels about Barcelona and Shanghai in the 20th century as the research object, to analyzes the meanings and the roles of "house", as the stage on which stories take place, in narration of novels. On this basis, this paper further discusses the special role of limits and borders in showing the meaning of "house", and reveals how the differences and conflicts between the two different spaces are clearly displayed in the narration of boundaries. In connection with this, the article also analyzes the narrative style and cultural meaning of urban public space elements, such as streets and rivers, as space boundaries in the novels.
