Resumen de Emociones durante las protestas LGTBIQ en Argentina y Chile: factores individuales y contexto político

  Este artículo analiza las emociones durante la participación en el movimiento por la igualdad de derechos de Lesbianas, Gays, Bisexuales, personas Transgénero, Intersexuales y Queer (LGTBIQ) en Argentina y Chile. En base a encuestas aplicadas in situ en su principal marcha anual, buscamos contribuir a la literatura sobre movimientos sociales especifi cando la relación entre emociones y acción colectiva. Demostramos que las emociones no se distribuyen aleatoriamente entre los manifestantes, sino que son moldeadas por características individuales y nacionales. Entre los manifestantes con mayor compromiso activista y mayor movilización cognitiva encontramos las emociones negativas más intensas. Además, los manifestantes chilenos, quienes se movilizan en un contexto político menos favorable a las demandas del movimiento LGTBIQ en comparación con los manifestantes argentinos, también experimentan emociones negativas con mayor intensidad.

  This article analyzes the emotions during the participation in the movement for equal rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersexual and Queer (LGTBIQ) people in Argentina and Chile. Based on surveys applied in situ in its main annual march, we seek to contribute to the literature on social movements by specifying the relationship between emotions and collective action. We show that emotions are not distributed randomly among the protesters but are shaped by individual and national characteristics. Among the protesters with greater activist commitment and greater cognitive mobilization we fi nd the most intense negative emotions. In turn, Chilean protesters, who mobilize in a political context less favorable to the demands of the LGTBIQ movement in comparison with the Argentine protesters, also experience negative emotions with greater intensity.
