  • Resumen
    • The Fat Acceptance Movement, born in the late 1960s with the founding of the civil rights organization, the National Association to Aid Fat Americans, aims to end discrimination against fat people and disrupt the belief that fat bodies are not meant to be visible. This article draws upon the convergence between sexuality, desire, fatness, and disability in Mariana Villegas's monologue, Este cuerpo mío. Villegas advocates transforming the way we view bodies and understanding fatness in terms of privilege and power, thus envisioning pleasure and sexuality as constituting a rejection of all that has been used to define fat women as undesirable.
