    Se presenta un análisis bibliométrico de la investigación externa de fondos adscritos al Departamento de Prehistoria del Museo Arqueológico Nacional en el período inmediato al cierre del Museo para su renovación integral (2005) y desde su reapertura hasta final de la década (2014-2019). Se ofrece un perfil de los investigadores, instituciones y solicitudes de consultas de fondos. El objetivo último es presentar posibles estrategias para fortalecer la presencia de sus colecciones en el ámbito de la investigación actual de la disciplina.

    A bibliometric analysis of the external research of collections assigned to the Department of Prehistory of the Museo Arqueológico Nacional is presented in this paper. The period studied here is immediately before the closing of the museum for its integral renovation (2005) and from its reopening until the end of the decade (2014-2019). A profile of researchers, institutions and requests for inquiries is offered too. The eventual goal is to present possible strategies to strengthen the presence of the museum collections in the field of current Prehistory research.
